Angelina Rose Di Carlo — A Dynamic Young Player Taking the Next Step with AFC Toronto Academy

Angelina Rose Di Carlo (2012) represents another exciting example of a talented player progressing from UMSC to the next stage of the high-performance pathway. AFC Toronto lists Angelina as joining its inaugural Academy directly from Unionville-Milliken SC.
Angelina had already attracted attention earlier in her development. First Touch Football Canada highlighted her versatility on the left side of the field, composure in possession, willingness to be brave with the ball and competitive approach.
Those qualities provide a strong foundation for continued development: technical confidence, competitiveness, versatility and a willingness to take responsibility with the ball.
Her selection by AFC Toronto as a 2012-born player is an exciting next step. She will now have the opportunity to continue developing within a professional club Academy environment alongside other talented young players. AFC Toronto describes its fully funded Academy as a full-time, high-performance development program designed to create a pathway toward its First Team and the professional game.
AFC Toronto announced its inaugural Academy cohort on August 30, 2026. The players were identified and selected by the club for a program serving talented players aged 14–18 within a professional, high-performance environment.
Angelina joins a growing list of players who have developed at UMSC and gone on to pursue
opportunities at higher levels of the game.
Now Angelina adds her name to that continuing story.
Angelina’s selection for the inaugural AFC Toronto Academy is first and foremost a tremendous achievement for her and her family. It is also a proud moment for the coaches and teammates who have contributed along the way – and an inspiring message to every young girl currently wearing a UMSC jersey:
The pathway is real. The opportunity is there. And it can start right here at UMSC.
